Canned Pumpkin

In a message titled, "No Canned Pumpkin," Elaine writes:
Listen, you guys, you don't need fresh pumpkins for pumpkin pie. I have
always used butternut squash and the pies are fabulous. Why put yourself
under all kinds of pressure to cook pumpkin when it is in season!!! If you
get a kick out of doing it, be my guest. But don't make life harder than
it is.
Canned pumpkin is not legal.
