Chestnuts

Elaine writes:
When you have progressed quite a bit on the diet and are on your way
towards recovery, you can try them. Chestnut flour is not legal.
However, if you buy dried chestnuts, soak them and cook them until soft.
You can then use them for stuffing and other things. Rabbi Rosenbaum in
Jerusalem who published my book in Hebrew was so particular that he had a
full 3-4 pages of analysis on cooked, raw, roasted, etc. chestnuts. It is
just common sense to realize that once you boil something which has some
starch in it, it will become so water-soaked that the weight will be
mostly water and the tiny bit of starch is diluted way down.
