Slippery Elm

Elaine writes:

Question:
Before SCD™I was fine on slippery elm. Why all of a sudden is it illegal and why am I so sick on it changing my diet?

Answer: Slippery elm is illegal for people who go on SCD™. It is based on the fact that it contains chemical compounds which are mucilagenous and are carbohydrates which I believe (and I haven't done a Ph.D on this) which do not tie in with the basis of the diet. If you think you are helped by slippery elm, it is a free world. Often when one combines illegals with legals, the combination results in unfavorable results. It would take many months of research to try and find out why this specific combination is not good.

Perhaps the slippery elm has helped you and combining it with SCD™ is causing an unfavorable result. Therefore, you have to decide which way you are to go. If I were as sure of slippery elm as I am of potatoes and pasta, then I would say, "you can't serve two masters." But in this case, you will have to make up your own mind.
Love, Elaine
